In light of recent events on campus, the UNM Dean of Students Office will be hosting their spring Campus Safety Walk a little earlier this semester on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in participating should report to the SUB Ballroom C at 6:30 p.m. for instructions.
Participants will walk around campus in teams identifying any issues with campus lighting, emergency phones, landscape hazards and any other safety concerns they think need to be addressed. Evaluating the campus helps the appropriate offices address safety concerns that will help make the campus safer for the UNM community.
Interim Dean of Students, Dr. Kim Kloeppel says that these safety walks are a good way to address concerns and also serve as a reminder to students, staff and visitors to be aware of their surroundings on campus.
The campus walks are usually held twice a year in the spring and fall semesters. For more information on the safety walk please contact Rob Burford in the Dean of Students Office at 277-3361 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
