ASUNM Community Experience Spring Storm 2016
April 15, 2016 - Dorene DiNaro
On Saturday, April 16, the Associated Students of UNM (ASUNM) Community Experience will be holding their annual Spring Storm. This is an annual event in which over 1,000 students, staff and faculty from UNM volunteer in a one-day service project on The University of New Mexico campus, and the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas, to give back to our community.
“This is a great way to make a difference in our community,” says Dr. Eliseo “Cheo” Torres, vice president for Student Affairs, and regular Spring Storm participant. “I am always impressed with the number of students who participate and the amount of work that is accomplished in a short amount of time.”
Volunteers check in at the UNM Football Stadium beginning at 9:15 a.m. and are assigned to various sites where they will work until 2 p.m. The day concludes with a lunch and fiestas on Johnson field including games, live music and prizes.
