UNM Students Ready to Suit Up
August 4, 2017 - Dorene DiNaro
Congratulations! You’re graduating from college and ready to take on those interviews, but what are you going to wear? UNM Career Services is teaming up with JCPenney to host an exclusive College Suit Up event on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at its Albuquerque Coronado Center store, 6600 Menaul Blvd. NE.
Dr. Jenna Crabb, director of UNM Career Services, is proud to be part of an event which will provide students with a jump start on making a good impression while keeping a little more money in their pockets.
“Finding career clothes can be a daunting and expensive task,” Crabb says. “And with the fall recruiting season right around the corner, this is a great opportunity for our students to have a competitive edge in building their professional wardrobe.”
The event is only open to UNM students, alumni, faculty and staff and will offer an extra 40% discount on select men’s and women’s career and dress apparel and shoes. Shoppers will need to show their UNM ID upon entry.
Bryan Stacy, a UNM sophomore and New Student Orientation Leader and many others are planning on attending and making the most of the deals. “Suit Up is the perfect opportunity for students to jump start their professional lives without stress and without regret," he says.
“This will be fun night where individuals can get help choosing career clothes, getting interview tips and general advice on their career” Crabb says. “I encourage everyone to come out, shop and gain that competitive edge in building your professional wardrobe.”
UNM Career Services assists students, faculty, staff, and alumni in developing, evaluating, and/or implementing career, education, and employment decisions. For more information on the event please visit UNM Career Services website or call 505.277.2531.
