The VMRC is Moving
July 26, 2021 - Dorene DiNaro
On August 2, the Veterans Military and Resource Center is moving to 608 Buena Vista Drive (Building 20A, west of Dane Smith Hall). The move will provide students with additional resources and allow them to be in the same building with the Student Veterans of UNM.
Military-affiliated students will benefit from a greater collaborative experience among the two entities and the move will allow the VMRC to continue growing its offerings.
The VMRC provides information to military-affiliated students on the ins and outs of transitioning from military life to civilian and college life, including how to start the process of using VA Education Benefits at UNM. The Center works hand-in-hand with other UNM resources and serves as a liaison to a vast network of external veteran entities.
The VMRC will continue offering mental health counseling for military-affiliated students, as well as having a VA representative, the Vet Success on Campus Counselor (VSOC). Additionally, students will have access to a computer lab, conference room, and lounge area which they don’t have in their current location.
Please visit the VRMC website for all the details.
