The University of New Mexico - Main and Branch Campuses join many college campuses across the nation in celebrating the 56th anniversary of the Higher Education Act where the term first-generation was first coined which has helped countless low-middle income students come the first in their families to earn college degrees. By creating awareness, sharing stories, and highlighting resources, we hope to create a culture that encourages students to ask for help and remind them that there are thousands of Lobos just like them! 


AASS Honored at National Conference

AASS was given the Innovative Website of the Year award which is particularly timely with the increased need for digital access and resources. “African American Student Services receiving Innovative Website of the Year from ABCC is such an honor,” Dannelle Kirven, AASS Sr. Student Success Specialist says. “I am proud that AASS is putting in the work to ensure our support of students is not only prevalent in our physical space but also our digital space.”
