AISS Celebrates American Indian Heritage Month

Gyasi RossNovember is American Indian Heritage Month! Help American Indian Student Services celebrate by attending the kickoff event this Friday, Nov. 2 at noon in the SUB Atrium. The kickoff features the delivery of a 2012 Proclamation on behalf of UNM President Frank followed by dance performances from Walatowa Headstart Students. Immediately following the kickoff, Gyasi Ross, author of "Don't Know Much About Indians (but I wrote about us anyways)" will deliver a keynote address entitled "Making it Work: The Native Community and Values as Tools for Academic Success.
