UNM Public Service Career Showcase 2012

October 31, 2012 - Dorene DiNaro

The University of New Mexico's Office of Career Services will hold the last career event of the semester, on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the SUB Ballrooms.  The UNM Public Service Career Showcase is designed to facilitate the recruitment of the best and the brightest that New Mexico has to offer and to encourage job seekers to consider a career in public service, "Working for America."  The focus is on employment in federal, state, and municipal governments.

The office of Personnel Management will also host a workshop from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. tomorrow in the SUB.  The workshop is designed to teach individuals interested in working for the federal government how to utilize USA JOBS effectively and provide the best practices for navigating the federal job market.  Students from all the four-year universities and two-year community colleges are invited to attend.

The showcase is open to UNM alumni and community members as well.  Professional business attire is strongly recommended and job seekers are asked to come prepared, professionally dressed, and with plenty of copies of their resumes.

For an up-to-date detailed list of registered recruiters and their openings visit the UNM Career Services website at career.unm.edu or call 505-277-2531 for more information.
