Chase Foundation Scholars Participate in Community Service
September 25, 2015 - Dorene DiNaro
Earlier this month, UNM’s Chase scholars, along with members of the College Enrichment Program, participated in a community service project in Artesia, NM. Scholars helped build houses with Habitat for Humanity and also cleared out a lot for a future community garden while they were there.
The participants received a scholarship from the Chase Foundation in Artesia with matching funds provided by the UNM Foundation. The Chase Foundation Scholarship affords students additional resources to pursue a college education with the goal of obtaining a college degree.
Through this scholarship, eligible students have the ability to attend one of our State’s colleges or universities and have a significant portion of their college education paid for through the Chase or New Mexico Legislative lottery scholarships, and have additional scholarship funds provided through New Mexico colleges and universities
Along with their scholarship, recipients have plenty of resources and support available to them via the guidance provided by the UNM College Enrichment Program. The Chase family recognizes the need to educate our youth and provide educational opportunities to improve the quality of life for future generations.
