Sweetland Recognized with Sarah Belle Brown Award

Katrina Sweetland, program coordinator with American Indian Student Services (AISS) was recently recognized as the staff winner of the 2015 Sarah Belle Brown Community Service Award.
According to her nominator, Sweetland understands that college is not an easy road—particularly because she faced economic and educational challenges firsthand. In her role as Program Coordinator for American Indian Student Services, she is able to make a lasting impact on all of the students she helps.
The Sarah Belle Brown Community Service Award recognizes one student, one staff, and one faculty member for the volunteer service work done by members of the UNM community for the good of the greater community. The faculty and staff recipients each receive cash award of $1,500 and the student recipient receives a $1,500 scholarship, all generously endowed by Doug and Sarah Brown.
