NMASAP to Hold Symposium on UNM Campus
February 14, 2018 - Dorene DiNaro
The 2018 New Mexico Association of Student Affairs Professionals (NMASAP) symposium, Unpacking Today’s Student Affairs: Funding for Higher Education, Campus Climate, and Immigration, will be held on February 22-23, 2018 in the UNM Student Union Building.
Four diverse panels made up of faculty, students, and staff will discuss funding for higher education, campus climate, immigration and the student lottery scholarship. This is a great networking opportunity and the chance to learn more about these topics and their impact on our profession.
Today’s college campuses are feeling the effects of our ever-changing, more complex world. Many of us in higher education find ourselves trying to figure out ways to do more with less funding while remaining not only productive in our roles, but more importantly, supportive to our students. We question the definition of campus climate and how that pertains to inclusivity on campus. And finally, we try to decode what’s happening with regard to immigration both on a national and local level
These and other questions will be discussed in a productive and optimistic setting designed to bring individuals together to collaborate on ideas on how to make our campuses better for students and staff.
