February 23, 2018 - Dorene DiNaro
From college casual to business professional, Career Services and JCPenney host special event for UNM students.
Congratulations! You’re graduating from college and ready to take on those interviews, but what are you going to wear? UNM Career Services is teaming up with JCPenney to host an exclusive College Suit Up event on Sunday, March 4 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at its Albuquerque Coronado Center store, 6600 Menaul Blvd. NE.
Dr. Jenna Crabb, director of UNM Career Services, is proud to be part of an event which will provide students with a jump start on making a good impression while keeping a little more money in their pockets.
“Finding career clothes can be a daunting and expensive task,” Crabb says. “If you just graduated in December, are graduating in spring or applying to internships, this is a great opportunity for our students to have a competitive edge in building their professional wardrobe.”
The event is only open to UNM students, alumni, faculty and staff and will offer an extra 40% discount on select men’s and women’s career and dress apparel and shoes. Shoppers will need to show their UNM ID upon entry. Alumni will need to show the email sent to them from UNM Alumni Relations Office.
Bryan Stacy, a UNM sophomore and New Student Orientation Leader and many others are planning on attending and making the most of the deals. “Suit Up is the perfect opportunity for students to jump start their professional lives without stress and without regret," he says.
“This past fall we hosted this event, and it was a huge success! We had over 500 Lobos attend” Crabb says. “I encourage everyone to come out, shop and gain that competitive edge in building your professional wardrobe.”
UNM Career Services assists students, faculty, staff, and alumni in developing, evaluating, and/or implementing career, education, and employment decisions. For more information on the event please visit UNM Career Services website or call 505.277.2531.
