AASS Celebrates Black History Month

January 31, 2020 - Dorene DiNaro

February 1 marks the beginning of Black History month, an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time to recognize the central role of African Americans in U.S. history.

African American Student Services always plans a month of events with a kickoff on Feb. 3 with a flag raising ceremony at 11 a.m. at Scholes Hall.  Throughout the month there are several events including performances by the Langston Hughes Project featuring the Ron McCurdy Quartet.

Cheo sat down and talked with Dannelle Kirven, AASS professional intern about the events.  Please visit the African American Student Services website for all the details.
