Martinez Appointed President of NM TRIO Association

Tamara Martinez, Sr. Student Program Advisor, Student Support Services-TRIO was declared the President of the TRIO New Mexico state association on May 1, 2022. The annual role will require Tamara to lead professional staff from 36 TRIO New Mexico programs serving nearly 9,500 pre-college and college federal TRIO participants. In the capacity of TRIO NM President, Tamara will also become a board member of the regional TRIO association, Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs. TRIO New Mexico promotes TRIO programs to serve their student populations by encouraging legislation to support the national, regional and state needs of the TRIO eligible populations. Additionally, TRIO New Mexico provides professional development, scholarship opportunities for TRIO eligible participants, and access to resources for program support. Congratulations, Tamara!
