Student Publications and Daily Lobo Alumni Hall of Honor Ceremony

As the independent voice of the students of The University of New Mexico since 1895, the Daily Lobo has achieved countless milestones—many of which are cause for celebration. Each year, members of the UNM Daily Lobo and Student Publications Alumni Chapter honor outstanding alumni at their Hall of Honor celebration.  “The Hall of Honor celebration is an important part of our alumni weekend. Alumni gather to reminisce, look through back issues of publications, and celebrate outstanding alumni on their accomplishments as they reflect on their time at the Daily Lobo,” says Daven Quelle, Business Manager, UNM Student Publications.

Florencio Olguin

Olguin Named Director of Operations for Student Affairs
June 12, 2023
After a competitive nationwide search, Florencio Olguin Jr. has been named as the Director of Operations for Student Affairs. As a seasoned Lobo, Olguin has been a part of The University of New Mexico community for the past 15 years as a student, fellow, staff member, and adjunct faculty. He will begin the Operations Director role on July 1.

UNM Children's Campus Marks Accreditation Milestone and Receives Increased Funding for PreK Programmimg

The UNM Children’s Campus (UNMCC) was recently reaccredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). “Over the past thirty years, we have prided ourselves on continuing to maintain the distinguished mark of quality from NAEYC and to be recognized for our efforts and commitment to ensuring the highest professional standards,” says Daniela Baca, UNMCC director.

Agoyo Named Executive Director for Student Support

After a competitive nationwide search, Pam Agoyo (Cochiti, Kewa, Ohkay Owingeh) has been appointed as the new Executive Director for Student Support in the Division of Student Affairs.  Agoyo has been with The University of New Mexico in various capacities for over 25 years. She begins her executive director role on July 1.

McIver

McIver Appointed Executive Director for Student Health and Counseling

Dr. Eric Scott, vice president for student affairs, with support from university leadership, has appointed Dr. Stephanie McIver as the Executive Director for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) at UNM.  McIver, who is currently serving in this role on an interim basis and previously served as the director for SHAC Counseling Services officially begins permanent appointment on July 1st, 2023
