UNM to Honor Lobos at Student Memorial Ceremony

University of New Mexico community will take time to remember and celebrate our Lobos who passed away during the last year. A Student Memorial Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building Ballroom C.
“The ceremony will be a way for folks to gather and pay tribute to the lives of our students who have passed away this year,” says Nasha Torrez, J.D. UNM Dean of Students.
Family members and the Lobo community are invited to join Torrez, UNM Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, James Holloway, Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Eric Scott, and staff from the Division of Student Affairs as they honor the lives and legacies of these students.
This year, five students will be remembered. They are Diane E. Albert, Jessica M. Hanna, Diana L. Ritter, Liam H. Scott, Brandon Travis, and Herbert N. Von Haas.
“We can better process loss, when in the presence of love and support from the folks who were positively impacted by the students’ lives. All are welcome to attend this special event to honor our students who have passed,” says Torrez.
The formal ceremony will include the calling of the names of the students as well as remarks from UNM administrators, and a moment of slience.
