June 27, 2025 - Dorene DiNaro
Following a competitive national search, Beverly Bracker has been selected to serve as the new director for Career Services. Bracker has been with The University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management since 2021, with her most recent role as the program manager for the Executive MBA Program, where she also taught a career and professional development course for MBA students. She will begin her new role on Tuesday, July 1.
Bracker said she is thrilled to join the Career Services team. “I am truly impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication of the Career Services staff, which is evident in everything that they do to support UNM students,” she said.
Dr. Jenna Crabb, executive director for Student Resources said she looks forward to working with Bracker and seeing the ideas and initiatives she brings to Career Services. “Her energy and enthusiasm are a welcome addition to the team,” she said.
Bracker brings more than 20 years of higher education experience, with a strong emphasis on supporting the career and professional development of diverse student and alumni populations through her work at both San Diego State University, Fowler College of Business, and the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Dr. Eric Scott, vice president for Student Affairs, said that Bracker’s background, commitment, and passion for career and professional development at UNM and beyond make her an ideal fit for this position.
“Beverly will be instrumental in strengthening our critical student success initiatives through her role as Career Services director,” he said. “She will play a key role in advancing career development and pathways for UNM students while partnering with employers and community stakeholders to ensure that local and global employers see the immense potential of all Lobos".
“I see so much potential for partnerships across UNM that will enable more students to benefit from the many resources and services offered by Career Services,” Bracker said.
As a first-generation college graduate, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa. “I believe my years of experience in business school and law school career services will be an asset as we work to develop innovative ways to elevate the student experience and drive student success at UNM,” Bracker said.
Crabb agrees and looks forward to working with Bracker on the ideas and initiatives she brings to Career Services. “I believe her previous experience in career development will contribute greatly to expanding and furthering our efforts in both career development and workforce engagement on our campus,” Crabb said.
Coupled with her passion for helping students identify and explore their career options, Bracker is eager to find more ways to show students how to connect UNM degrees with specific career paths. “Students can then explore their options and build relevant skills and experiences while at UNM so they are prepared to enter their chosen career path at graduation,” she said.
Please help us welcome Beverly to Student Affairs!
