August 19, 2026 - Dorene DiNaro
Nasha Torrez, J.D., UNM Dean of Students is pleased to announce the addition of Savannah Perez who will be serving in the behavioral interventionist role in the Dean of Students Office.
Perez is a New Mexico native who was born and raised in Albuquerque and brings more than eight years of experience in medical case management and community-based healthcare. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, she worked in community clinics throughout Albuquerque, helping patients navigate complex healthcare needs, connect with critical resources, and access support services.
Working with the diverse populations we serve has provided Perez with a strong foundation in advocacy, care coordination, and relationship building with community partners. She is excited to bring these skills to higher education, where she can continue her passion for helping others overcome challenges and connect with the support they need to succeed.
As part of her new role, Perez will help students navigate challenges by connecting them with campus and community resources and support services. She will also partner with faculty and staff to address complex student concerns and promote student success.
“I am looking forward to getting to know each of you, learning from your experiences, and collaborating to make a positive impact on our students. I am excited to be here and can’t wait to get started,” Perez said.
Perez can be reached via email sperez22@unm.edu or by calling the DOS main line, 505-277-3361.
